Students achieve most when they feel happy, secure and cared for. Our pastoral care is therefore central to the success of the College and our students.
Each student is under the overall care of a Personal Tutor in mixed year groups of around 12. These Personal Tutors are themselves members of one of four House teams headed by one of the Senior Tutors. The Senior Tutor is Personal Tutor to the students in their House at the start of Year 1.
The Senior Tutors are led in their work by the Deputy Head (Pastoral) and, together with the Head of Year 5 and 6, this group forms the main Pastoral team of the College.
The Pastoral team is as follows:
Deputy Head (Pastoral) - Mrs Lisa Švejdová
Aqua Housemaster - Mr Alan Law
Ignis Housemaster - Mr Jan Čihák
Terra Housemistress - Ms Helen Sartain
Ventus Housemistress - Mrs Lucilla Lau
Head of Year 5 & 6 - Mr Stephen Hudson

Aims of our pastoral care:
- To deliver individual care and support in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and respect.
- To create an environment where freeedom is always linked with the sense of responsibility, an environment where creativity is the bridge between different cultures, an environment where older students feel responsibility for younger students, a caring environment which discovers problems in time.
- To ensure that high academic standards are balanced with high ethical standards.
- To ensure that all cultures and nationalities are respected equally in the College community.
- To listen and learn from students, both inside and outside the classroom.
- To provide tactful, fair, kind, supportive and consistent pastoral care so to encourage and help the student to enjoy and make use of all his/her virtues and talents.
- To help young people choose the right way to develop their characters and to find their place in society.
- To make sure that students are aware of people in need in society.
- To help students manage difficult life situations and overcome difficult personal problems.
- To work closely with parents, help them to deal with any problems their child faces and, if necessary, liaise between parents and students and teachers and students.
