School offices temporarily moved to Špitálská

25 June 2010
As you may be aware we will be undertaking some much needed refurbishment of the school building over the summer. This will include major electrical, plumbing and decoration work, as well as improving our art room, reception area for parent, ICT and toilets. Naturally this means that the main school building will be unavailable over the summer.

The main school building will close at lunchtime on Friday 25th June and will not open again until Friday 27th August.

During that time we will be operating the main school offices at our new Spitalska Annex which is in a blue office building nearby on the opposite side of the road from the Fenix centre between the Spitalska school and the KB bank building. This is the building to which parents, students and staff should come during the summer for matters such as collection of IB certificates, meetings about courses, IGCSE results, etc. Our Bursary, pastoral and academic offices, HM office, Registry and Staff room will all be based there. The telephone numbers will remain the same.

As usual over the summer, the School, including the offices, will close for a summer break and this will be from 19th July to 6th August.

Because of the moving of servers, the School will close down completely from midday Friday 25th to 9.00 on Tuesday 29th June and again from Monday 23rd August to Wednesday 25th August and this will include access to emails remotely.

Whilst staff will be moving back into the main building on Thursday 26th August it would be appreciated if all non-urgent visits are avoided at these times.

The most important consequence of all these changes is that the actual beginning of the School Year will now be on Thursday 2nd September and not Wednesday 1st September.

To learn more about the important dates over the summer please refer to the News and Announcements piece called headlined ENGLISH COLLEGE IN PRAGUE - Key dates over the summer.

We would like to apologize once again for possible inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding for this situation.

"I would like to convey my opinon to parents who make decision whether to enable their children to study at the English College: definitely do not regret expenses as there is nothing better then having a student who likes going to school which passes a friendly atmosphere on you straight at the entrance. When you attend a parent meeting accompanied by your son or daughter, then you will understand that you could have not chosen any better school. "
Olga Havlová - Parent
"The English College is a happy, friendly school, which through its easy-going atmosphere manages to bring out the best in its students both as people and academically. I have enjoyed studying here toget- her with classmates from around the world. "
