Discipline
We recognize that teenagers need guidance and boundaries if they are to achieve success in school. However, the best form of discipline is self-discipline and we aim to achieve this through discussion and reasoning and effective pastoral care. The College is proud of the good relationships between teachers and students, which are based on cooperation and mutual respect. We expect our students to behave courteously and responsibly and show concern for the feelings and rights of others at all times. Bullying and racial or religious discrimination are not tolerated.
We publish a Code of Conduct for the health and safety of all our students and for the benefit of the whole school community. There are sanctions for inadequate work or behaviour, but we hope that common sense will prevail.
We cannot be lenient about drug offences. Anyone who uses or brings drugs into College constitutes a danger to themselves and to others and must expect to be suspended or asked to leave the school.
Dress Code
The College does not have a uniform but we expect students to show good judgement and common sense in choosing clothes to wear at school which are appropriate for serious academic study.
