Christmas Fair and Christmas concerts
2nd and 6th December 2005
On Friday 2 December, The English College held its annual Christmas Fair. The aim was to raise money for the construction of a secondary school in Afghanistan. Numerous stalls manned by students sold food and drink, which included Czech and oriental delicacies, Christmas cards and board games. UNICEF and Náruč also had stalls with goods for sale, and a popular tombola produced some excellent prizes.
The climax of the evening was a beautiful piano performance, followed by a Live at Christmas concert performed by the College band, Back to Basics.
Over 10,000 Kč was raised for the school in Afghanistan. This was supplemented by a further 5,000 Kč collected after the College Christmas concert of music and readings in the Klementinum Mirror Chapel on 6 December. The higlights of this concert were the performances of music scholar, Tereza Vágnerová, and Michal Monoszon's setting of Shakepeare's sonnets for voice and piano.

Activity week
June 2005
Every spring we put together a programme which includes physical activities as well as cultural. The main aim is not only educational, but we would also like to give our students the chance to be with their friends and teachers and enjoy a different experience from what they have in the classroom.
For example from 24th to 29th June 2005 there was an opportunity for our 45 students to take part in a 5-day trip to South Bohemia - near pond Dvořiště - with water sports training (canoeing, windsurfing etc.), living in tents, other sport activities (volleyball, football etc.)
