Vladimír Gavriněv

Head of Sports

Vladimír is native Czech born in Prague. In 1985 he graduated from The Charles University, Prague with a teacher´s degree in English and Physical Education. In the same year he started his teacher´s career at a secondary school in Beroun. During the years 1987 – 1989 he taught both of his subjects at Akademické Gymnázium Štěpánská, Prague.

For the following 3 years he worked as a tennis coach in Vienna, Austria and when his eldest daughter reached the age to go to school he brought his family back to Prague and began working as a freelance translator and interpreter. Doing that he met the first Headmaster of the ECP who offered him a job of sports teacher in English at the College.

For decades he used to compete in tennis, downhill skiing and cross-country skiing. He likes bringing people to sports organising all different contests for them as well as cycling, canoeing, skiing , and other outdoor trips.
