ECP is raising money for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal

11 November is Armistice Day. All this week, the ECP community is raising money for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. Students Michal Zapletal
and Natálie Brízová have organised assemblies to talk about the work of the RBL. They and the Student Council are selling the famous red poppies to help ex-servicemen and women and their families.

Years 4 and 6 also had the opportunity to hear from Major General Dvořák of the Czech army and 96-year-old air force veteran, Brigadier General Vranský. They talked about the Czechoslovak forces’ contribution to WWII. Also on the panel was Euan Edworthy. Euan raised the money for the Winged Lion memorial at Klárov to ensure that their contribution is permanently commemorated in Prague.
