Kayti Selbie

Teacher of English & School Librarian

Kayti began her career in business and eventually became a Product Control Analyst for a large retail company in the South of England.  After several years of working with children in her spare time, she decided to pursue a career in teaching and qualified as a teacher with a BEd (Hons) in 1994.  During her undergraduate studies, Kayti visited Olomouc to teach English and help lead in-service training for English language teachers.

After teaching in Southampton for several years, Kayti was drawn back to Prague in 1999 where she taught at an international school before returning to the UK in 2007.  Subsequently, she taught for 11 years at a state school in Plymouth where she was a member of the senior management team with responsibility for Literacy and the school library.  

Kayti is married to Phil and they have a daughter in England who is a freelance illustrator.  Before returning to Prague and joining ECP in 2019, Kayti gained an MEd as well as the National CPD Award for Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE). She is an avid reader, loves theatre and art and is passionate about the power of education to transform lives.
